Meet the staff of Security National
Don Pennington / Branch Manager I’ve lived in McPherson, Kansas for most of my life with the exception of a few years when I made Kansas City, Missouri my home. In 2004 I was offered the opportunity to move back to my hometown doing a job I love and I jumped at the offer. Not many can say they live in the best town and have the best job! With McPherson being my hometown, I take great pride in the community and currently am an ambassador for the Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Housing Committee, the McPherson Board of Realtors, and the Masonic Lodge 172. Spending quality time with family and friends has always been a priority. In my spare time during the summer I can be found at the nearest lake camping, boating, and jet skiing. During the winter months I enjoy traveling to destinations with sandy beaches and warm waters. A few of my favorites are Jamaica, Cozumel, and the Virgin Islands. I began my career in the mortgage industry in 2003 as a Mortgage Loan Officer and was awarded a promotion as a branch Manager in 2004. The McPherson Branch has had a couple of name changes since its inception with the most recent taking place in October of 2009 to SecurityNational Mortgage Company. Whether you are a first time home buyer or the novice buyer my goal is to provide accurate and dependable mortgage knowledge to assist you in making the best educated choice that meets your financial needs. I was born and raised in McPherson, Kansas with my four brothers and a sister. Now that I am older and we are done fighting over who rides in the front seat, I realize the importance of the traditions and values that I learned from my large family. I find myself, as crazy as this may seem, wanting to be around my family more and wanting to pass some of the same traditions and values onto my children, Paige, who is twelve and Simon, who is four. It amazes me everyday how fast my kids are growing and gaining knowledge…..they sure keep me on my toes and offer many laughs!! When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family, going to the lake, cooking for dinner guests and reading. Being a McPherson native has given me the opportunity to have many great people in my life and build lasting friendships. My professional adventures have led me to processing loans at Security National. I came to Security National with four years of title and loan closing experience and knowledge. I believe one of the main reasons I enjoy working with Security National, is helping people and being able to work on a personal level with them to accomplish their goals of homeownership or refinancing. After all, our goal is to make it all about you!
